Laura Veritti


Laura holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Languages from the University of Udine. During her studies, she has spent a year in Paris through the Erasmus programme. She also holds a Postgraduate Master’s Degree with honors in Intercultural Cooperation and Development from the University of Trieste, with a thesis on Indigenous Peoples’ rights. During her studies, Laura interned at two Italian organisations, Missiòn Onlus and Centro di Volontariato Internazionale, where she was an assistant to the project manager; held education activities in High Schools with the main focus on immigration, refugees and asylum seekers; and produced articles for the yearly report of the Italian Caritas: “5° Rapporto sui conflitti dimenticati” (“The 5th Report on Forgotten Conflicts”). In 2017, Laura graduated with a European Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation at the European Inter-University Centre, with a thesis entitled “Indigenous Women and the Struggle for Effective Justice. Reparations for Human Rights Violations in Guatemala & Mexico.” Laura’s research interest is on women’s rights, Indigenous Peoples, sustainable development, and transitional justice.
