Libya’s Tripoli-based High State Council has rejected a budget approved by the eastern-based parliament, warning of more partition and wasting of public money.
Political activist released in Misrata after various condemnations

An armed group released political activist Al-Mutassim Al-Araibi two days after he was kidnapped in Misrata. Social media circulated news of his release after a widespread campaign of condemnations and demands to reveal his whereabouts.

Ahead of the Trans-Mediterranean Migration Forum (TMMF) to be held in Tripoli on 17 July, Acting Interior Minister Emad Trabelsi held a press conference where he set out the government’s stance on the issue. He stated that Libya needs to be the owner of the project and that Tripoli’s policy is to establish four lines of defence to reduce irregular migration.
UN probing reported mass grave on Libya-Tunisia border

The U.N. human rights chief said on Tuesday that his office was following up on reports of a mass grave in the desert along the Libya-Tunisia border, after the bodies of at least 65 migrants were found at another site this year. Libya’s Justice Minister Halima Ibrahim Abdulrahman stressed her country’s commitment to human rights.
