Newly Elected President, Treasurer and Board of Directors of No Peace Without Justice

During the general assembly of the members of “Non c’è Pace Senza Giustizia” (No Peace Without Justice) held on 26 June, Tara O’ Grady, an Irish human rights activist dedicated to the promotion of democratic principles, accountability and transitional justice from the Middle East to South America, was elected as President and Giulia Schiavoni, expert in fundraising and project design on Gender & Human Rights, as Treasurer.

In addition, the members of the board of directors were appointed, which is made up as follows:

Albert  E. Alejo, SJ, a Filipino Jesuit priest, poet and anthropologist, has worked intimately with NPWJ since 2017, especially in the international struggle against impunity in the wake of widespread extrajudicial killings in the Philippines.
Alison Smith, legal counsel and the International Justice Director for NPSG, having formerly worked as the Country Director in Sierra Leone for NPSG as well as served as the chief legal adviser to the Vice President of Sierra Leone on the Special Court and international humanitarian law.
Carmelo Palma, Italian philosopher, politician and journalist, who formerly endorsed leadership positions in the Transnational Nonviolent Radical party and served as municipal councillor of Turin and regional councillor of Piedmont.
Marco Perduca, formerly senator in Italy (2008-2013), serving on the Foreign Affairs, Justice, and Human Rights committees, an expert on UN mechanisms on international criminal justice and drug policy reform, as well as co-founder ad coordinator of the international platform Science for Democracy.
Michael Cermele, an experienced entrepreneur who worked as a business strategy consultant on payment technology and venture capital, as well as founded initiatives in credit management.
